Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for experienced Cashiers to work in their various Stores in the Johannesburg Region. The Cashier is responsible for providing customer service at the point of sale and ensuring a world-class shopping experience. They are also responsible for recording customer transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system according to company policies and standard operating procedures
Minimum Requirements: The successful candidate for this position will have Grade 12 / Matric At least 6 months’ cashiering experience Computer literacy – MS Office Sound numeracy skills Strong command of the English language Basic customer service skills The ability to work retail hours.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a professional relationship with customers, and adhering to the customer turnover hourly rate. They will also be responsible for cash flow and ensuring all line voids and price changes are approved and signed off by the supervisor.
I will handle all payments and transactions for Dis-Chem, including loyalty cards from our partner businesses. I will ensure that all money is kept safely and securely inside the till, and that only authorised personnel have access to it. I will also be responsible for addressing customer queries regarding store merchandise.
Competencies: The ideal Cashier would have in-depth knowledge of cash registers and be able to maintain cash drawers. They would also be able to process sales, refunds and payments accurately and efficiently. The Cashier must be able to work under pressure, be attentive to detail, and have excellent problem solving skills. They must also be able to work well
