Stage 6 load shedding implemented immediately

Early on Sunday morning, Eskom made the announcement that Stage 6 load shedding would need to be implemented immediately. This will be for the second time this year.

This occurred after one generation unit at each of the power plants in Kusile and Kriel tripped.

Stage 4 to Stage 5 was already reached after two units at Duvha Power Station and one unit each at Kusile, Arnot, and Camden tripped on Saturday morning.

The duration of Stage 6 was not specified by the power company. It is anticipated to have a briefing on Sunday at 10:00 to inform the public of the power outage.
