Tim Sukazi explains Sead Ramovic’s resignation from TS Galaxy

TS Galaxy president Tim Sukazi has provided more details about Sead Ramovic’s unexpected resignation as head coach of the Rockets.

Ramovic, who had played a key role in the club’s development over the past three years, announced his departure live on SuperSport TV after a 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch FC in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday night.

Despite guiding TS Galaxy to a strong sixth-place finish last season and reaching the Carling Knockout Cup final, the team has struggled this season, with poor form and an early exit from the same cup competition.

When discussing his resignation, Ramovic pointed to the challenge of rebuilding the team after losing key players such as Given Msimango, Bathusi Aubaas, Melusi Buthelezi, Fiacre Ntwari, Pogiso Sanoka, Lehlohonolo Mojela, and Tshegofatso Nyama in recent years.

Sukazi confirmed that he had been aware of Ramovic’s decision before it was publicly announced, revealing that the coach had informed the players of his resignation in the dressing room after the team’s loss to Magesi FC on Sunday.

“Yes, I was aware… Sead announced his resignation on Sunday after our game against Magesi [to the team] in the change room,” Sukazi told Metro FM Sport.

“We met on Monday and discussed everything. We knew the game against Stellenbosch was going to be his last. My message to the team was that, as this was his final match, we should acknowledge all he has done for the club and give him a proper send-off by playing well.”

Sukazi also explained that when Ramovic first announced his resignation on Sunday, he did not think it was a final decision, describing it as a reaction “in the heat of the moment.”
