Nomachule Mngoma, was allegedly attacked by Gigaba’s wife
Former Safa CEO Leslie Sedibe and Malusi Gigaba’s ex-wife, Nomachule Mngoma, was allegedly attacked by Gigaba’s wife during a love triangle dispute.
The alleged incident, which led Sedibe to get a protection order against his wife, Faith Nevhutalu, happened at his law firm’s offices in Summit Square, Joburg, last year, and was witnessed by his employees.
Details about the assault, which had been kept quiet, were revealed to us last week by tenants who share the office building and were unhappy with Nevhutalu’s reported behaviour.
The tenants, who wanted to stay anonymous to avoid backlash, described the chaotic events from August last year when Nevhutalu burst into Sedibe’s office after finding Mngoma there, accusing them of having an affair.
Sedibe told her that Mngoma was his business partner and they weren’t having an affair, but she allegedly became furious and attacked them. After the altercation, Sedibe left the office quickly to avoid losing his temper.
“This was not a catfight; it was a serious fight that could have hurt either Nomachule or Leslie,” said the informant.
“Sedibe has already been through a lot after being banned by FIFA for alleged match-fixing; he is trying to rebuild his life and doesn’t need this drama,” the source added.
The disturbance upset other tenants, leading Sedibe’s landlord to reprimand him for risking their safety.
Sedibe reportedly wrote back with a detailed explanation of what happened and expressed his regrets.
“Rose Tsatsane, who handled the complaint against Leslie, accepted his explanation but warned him to prevent such incidents in the future,” said the informant. Another source close to Sedibe and Nevhutalu said the trouble started when he mentioned wanting to partner with Mngoma on a business deal.
Nevhutalu allegedly bugged Sedibe’s phone and hacked his WhatsApp to find messages that angered her. She took this action after discovering Mngoma was using Sedibe’s car.
She confronted Mngoma and told her to leave her husband alone. The source also claimed that Sedibe, who was previously married to actress Sonia Mbele, was so upset he moved out of their bedroom.
He told Nevhutalu he was working with Mngoma on a gas deal, but she insisted he was involved in something inappropriate. Sedibe nearly filed for divorce but chose not to.
“They are now trying to resolve their issues and hopefully will get back together,” the source said. Mngoma confirmed that Nevhutalu confronted her about the alleged affair but denied that there was an attack.
“She confronted me, but I told her we were working together on a solar business deal, and he wanted to be involved with that,” she said.
