Nabi calls Chiefs loss a learning opportunity
Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi is hopeful that the loss to SuperSport United will provide valuable lessons for his squad as they progress this season.
After starting the season with three wins, Chiefs have now suffered back-to-back defeats against Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United in the league.
This defeat pushed SuperSport, who have played two games more, into eighth place, just above Amakhosi in the standings.
“Our young players need to understand that to win a football game, you need to put the ball in the net, but we believe that it’s a lesson, even if it’s a tough one. We hope we can do better.”
Nabi had previously noted that the team’s morale would drop when they fell behind, which he aimed to change.
“We believe that today the mentality was good and positive even after conceding the goal. They switched on, we pressed, and we pushed hard, especially in the second half,” Nabi remarked on the improvement in mentality.
“We played higher, filled the box, took shots, made crosses, and we believed we could change the game. We want that kind of mentality.”
“It’s a game we controlled for practically the whole match; unfortunately, we created many opportunities but couldn’t score, while the opponent had just one opportunity and they took it,” he added.
