Tyla is seeing massive success in the US.

The talented singer celebrated the news on social media, saying, “MY ALBUM WENT GOLDDDDDD!”

Tyla released her album in March 2024, and it quickly topped the charts, thanks to her hit single “Water” and “Jump,” which features American rapper Gunna and Jamaican artist Skillibeng.

The music video for “Jump” was filmed in Johannesburg and hit 2 million views on YouTube within just two days. Other popular tracks include “Art” and “Truth or Dare.”

Her album has also received nominations for Album of the Year, Best Pop Album, Newcomer of the Year, and Female Artist of the Year at the upcoming South African Music Awards (SAMAs), which will be shown on November 2, 2024.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) defines a Gold record as an album or song that sells 500,000 copies (including records, tapes, and CDs).

Platinum status is given for sales exceeding one million, while Diamond is awarded for 10 million or more units sold.

Tyla also made waves internationally when her debut album was certified platinum in Brazil in September, and she won a Grammy Award this year.

What else has Tyla been up too

Recently, she released a deluxe version of her self-titled debut album, titled “Tyla+,” which includes three new tracks: “Shake Ah” featuring Tony Duardo, Optimist, and Maestro, along with “Push 2 Start” and “Back To You.”

Additionally, she will return to South Africa for a tour in December, with shows scheduled in Pretoria and Cape Town.
