Oscar Mbo apologises to Makhadzi, blames event organiser
Oscar Mbo real name Mbongeni Ndlovu has recently faced criticism on social media.
The controversy started when Makhadzi claimed that Mbo or his team removed her USB during her set, forcing her to cut her performance short.
This led to public outrage and criticism directed at Mbo, who has now come forward to share his side of the story.
The incident occurred during the annual Macufe Festival, held from 2 to 9 October, a major cultural and music event at which both artists were scheduled to perform.
In reply to the accusations, Oscar Mbo explained that he and the event promoter had agreed to divide Makhadzi’s performance time, with each of them performing for 20 minutes.
“I have said it over the phone, and I am saying it again; if that did really happen, I am saying sorry, my sister,”
“The common denominator is the event promoter; that is why I said let us get them to issue out a statement regarding the incident.”
Makhadzi has since removed the post in which she vented her frustrations.
Both artists, Mbo and Makhadzi, have emphasised the need for the event organisers to release a statement clarifying the situation.
Oscar Mbo’s other controversy
This controversy follows criticism of the DJ for reportedly shortening Kharishma’s performance at the Blouberg Spring Annual festival, held on September 28 at Senwabarwana Stadium in Limpopo.
Oscar Mbo apologised in Kharishma’s post’s comment section.
“The communication we had with the promoter of the event and the change of times was clearly not communicated,”
“We were booked for three events, and they were all done by one promoter; they changed times on one show, and it affected all three shows.”
