Where millions don’t work: Pitso Mosimane wants to meet former boss Motsepe in court

Confederation of African Football president Patrice Motsepe has been subpoenaed to testify in a civil suit involving Mamelodi Sundowns, former coach Pitso Mosimane, and Mosimane’s agent, Moira Tlhagale Sports Marketing and Management.

The Sunday World reports that the subpoena, issued by the registrar of the Joburg High Court, requires Motsepe to appear in person at the court on Monday, April 29, at 10 am.

According to the subpoena, Motsepe is expected to testify on behalf of Mosimane and the agency owned by Mosimane’s wife, Moira Tlhagale, regarding matters related to the ongoing court action.

Failure to comply with the subpoena could result in a fine or imprisonment for up to three months.

The civil suit, initiated by Mamelodi Sundowns, involves a demand for the repayment of at least R8 million in commission received by Mosimane and his wife’s company.

The dispute arose when Mosimane departed the club prematurely in 2020 following a fallout with Motsepe.
