Swallows Set to Punish Patjie Over Kasi Games Participation
Moroka Swallows is set to take decisive action against Tshediso Patjie for his involvement in the Kasi games.
Patjie, in violation of his contractual obligations with Swallows, has drawn dissatisfaction from Chairman Mogashoa.
The player now faces dual charges, having recently gained widespread attention on social media for his participation in the Kasi games.
This development is particularly unwelcome for Swallows management, already grappling with numerous challenges and formal charges from the Premier Soccer League.
Expressing his discontent, Club Chairman David Mogashoa deems Patjie’s actions unacceptable, citing a breach of his contract, which explicitly prohibits engagement in social matches.
Mogashoa was quoted by iDiski Times saying:
“How do you not want to play against Sundowns, and you are playing Kasi tournament?
“He is going to be charged for that, there is no other way, he is going to be charged.”
Patjie’s actions add to the predicaments faced by Swallows, with the player having previously refused, along with other teammates, to participate in matches against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows last month, citing non-payment issues.
As Swallows grapples with mounting challenges, their focus is on resolving these issues before the league resumes in February after the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
What’s next for Patjie
Details regarding the PSL disciplinary hearing and the charges against Patjie by the club will be disclosed in due course.
