WATCH|Alabama Officer Uses Stun Gun on Handcuffed Black Man
Following the release of a viral 45-second video showing her repeatedly using a stun gun on a handcuffed man, 24-year-old Micah Washington, a police officer in Alabama has been placed on administrative leave. The incident took place during a traffic stop on December 2, and the video depicts the White police officer leading Washington, who is Black, to a police cruiser.
Initial Interaction with the officer and Taser Use

After retrieving the gun and placing it on the car hood, she discharges her stun gun multiple times into Washington’s back, instructing him to “be quiet” amidst cries and screams.
Identity of the Officer
Court records identify the officer as Dana Elmore, but the police department has not officially confirmed her identity. Chief Richard Black and Mayor Melody Davis of the Reform Police Department acknowledge the incident and announce the officer’s administrative leave during the ongoing investigation.
Background and Charges
Washington’s girlfriend, Jalexis Rice, states that the couple pulled over to change a tire when the officer approached and shocked Washington with the stun gun. Washington is facing the following charges
