4 toddlers die after from poisoning in Rabie Ridge

Rabie Ridge police are conducting an investigation into the deaths of four toddlers who died after apparently ingesting rat poison. The children, aged 4 to 6, were playing in the yard in Kanana Extension 4 in Rabie Ridge when they suddenly began experiencing health complications.

All four children were rushed to a local clinic, but three unfortunately passed away at the clinic, while the fourth child died later in the afternoon upon arrival at the hospital.

Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the Ekurhuleni District communications officer, stated that it is still unclear how the children came into contact with the rat poison. Authorities have not made any arrests as the investigation continues.

The police are actively investigating four inquest dockets and urging anyone with information to come forward to help determine how the tragic incident occurred.

Two of the deceased children have been confirmed to be siblings.
