Zwane expresses anger over performance

After his team’s 2-1 loss against Chippa United on Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane is furious with his players.

Siyabonga Ngezana’s goal for the Amakhosi gave them the lead before the break, but goals for Siphelele Luthuli and an own goal for Edmilson Dove in the second half completely changed the course of the match.

After the final whistle, Arthur Zwane expressed his displeasure with the attitude of his team.

He claimed to have won the match before it even began on SuperSport TV.

“We could tell that we were off to a slow start. We anticipated that the game would be simple.

“Let alone that we scored the goal but to believe the the the first half we failed to dictate terms, I had to check them up at halftime to make them aware.

“We allowed them to do anything they wanted to do on the ball, giving them too much room. We should have done better because we didn’t portray the character.

“Look how many opportunities we generated in the second half that I feel had we taken two of them, we would have won the game. Had we applied ourselves right, put them under pressure, and forced them to make mistakes, like in the last minutes.

“Once you miss your chances, the other team scores, but we are the ones at fault,” said the player. One game, in particular, could have helped us maintain our confidence, but we severely let ourselves down.

Chiefs wasted a chance to overtake Chippa at the top of the list, while Chippa moved up to eighth after registering three straight victories under Morgan Mammila.
