Woman brutally kills her uncle

A 31-year-old woman was arrested by the South African Police (SAPS) Gelvandale investigators early on July 24, 2022. She was arrested for the alleged murder of her uncle.

Morne Pillay, aged 57,  worked the night shift at 5th Avenue in Windvogel. He is said to have arrived home at around 7:15 in the morning. It is claimed that Pillay and the suspect were having a disagreement.

Witnesses said that the deceased and the woman went outside and continued fighting. Pillay was laying on the ground with face injuries when the witnesses went outside. He was injured, sadly emergency responders were unable to save him.

Further allegations are that a brick was used to assault him.

The suspect was arrested on the scene and will appear in the Gelvandale magistrate court on Monday, 25 July 2022 on a charge of murder.
