Unknown man goes on the run after repeatedly raping 2 girls aged 7 and 9 overnight
The Emalahleni community in Mpumalanga is reeling from the shock and horror of the alleged rapes of two young girls, aged seven and nine.
The Sowetan reports that the incident unfolded on March 30 when the girls went missing from their parents’ home in the Vosman policing precinct near Emalahleni, prompting a frantic search by their concerned parents.
Police spokesperson Col Donald Mdhluli revealed that despite efforts to locate the missing children, they were not found.
It was only on March 31 that the disturbing news emerged from the Phola police station, indicating that the girls had been discovered and had fallen victim to a heinous crime – they had been raped.
Mdhluli detailed the harrowing ordeal the girls endured, explaining that they were abandoned on the streets by their attacker, left to fend for themselves after being held captive overnight.
Fortunately, a compassionate woman came to their aid, finding them in a distressed and vulnerable state, ill-prepared for the harsh realities they had faced.
The Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit has taken on the investigation of this tragic incident, working to uncover the truth and ensure justice is served for the young victims.
The police have called upon the community to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation, emphasizing the importance of collective action in seeking justice and protecting the vulnerable in society.
