Two years have passed and no one has been arrested for Namhla Mtwa’s murder as her businessman boyfriend drops bombshell

The case of Namhla Mtwa, the slain OR Tambo district municipal employee, has taken a new twist with her ex-boyfriend Major Mfesane Bhekizulu claiming that he was abducted and interrogated by the police in Kwazulu-natal.

The Dispatch alleges that Bhekizulu’s attorney, Emihle Bongo, revealed that her client was taken to a secluded rural police station where he was questioned about the Mtwa case.

Bongo stated, “We were approached by our client, who said he had been abducted by police on March 11. There is an investigation and the client is participating, but this time around the police abducted him, and took him to a secluded rural police station in KZN where they interrogated him. So he came here [to court] to say he is co-operating with the police. He feels they are taking it too far … Now he wants us to go to court and interdict the police from doing so.”

Despite the ordeal, Bhekizulu is willing to continue cooperating with the police.

Bongo emphasized, “We approached the court to say we don’t have an issue with the investigation, but it should be done within and not outside the ambit of the law.”

She also stressed the importance of all future communication with her client going through his legal team.

The murder of Namhla Mtwa in April 2022 shocked the nation, and the investigation into her death is ongoing.
