Orlando Pirates forward Thabiso Lebitso is savouring the euphoria of fulfilling a lifelong dream after scoring a remarkable goal in the Soweto derby.

The 32-year-old footballer recently joined the Buccaneers from Chippa United during the January transfer window and has quickly made his mark with four appearances in various competitions.

Lebitso’s moment of glory arrived during his first Soweto derby appearance, where he netted an equalizing goal to level the score at 2-2 before being substituted in the 88th minute.

His pivotal goal contributed to Orlando Pirates’ 3-2 victory at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.



Reflecting on his achievement, Lebitso expressed pride and gratitude at the opportunity to participate in the iconic Soweto derby, considering it a significant milestone in his career.

The forward labeled his goal as “beautiful” and emphasized the significance of making a memorable impact for the revered club.

In an interview with the Orlando Pirates Twitter page, Lebitso shared his sentiments about the match, stating, “It’s a privilege for me in this atmosphere; it’s a very nice atmosphere, I’ve been wishing to play in this atmosphere. It’s a dream come true for me because I don’t want to lie, it’s a very beautiful goal.”
