Springbok Rugby World Cup star welcomes baby girl

Springbok rugby star Eben Etzebeth and singer-actress Anlia Etzebeth have announced the arrival of their first child, a baby girl.

Anlia took to Instagram to share the happy news, posting a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed, cradling her newborn while Eben stood beside her in hospital scrubs, both wearing wide smiles.

She captioned the photo with the date of birth and expressed her gratitude, saying, “No words will ever be able to describe the feeling. Thank you Lord.”

The couple, who tied the knot in February 2023, had announced their pregnancy during South Africa’s Rugby World Cup triumph in October.

A post-match photo of Anlia holding the Webb Ellis Cup while Eben cradled her baby bump captured the joyous moment.

Friends and teammates of the couple took to Instagram to congratulate them on their new arrival.

Siya Kolisi’s wife, Rachel, simply expressed her happiness, while Layla, wife of wing Cheslin Kolbe, eagerly commented, “Guys! Congratulations, we cannot wait to meet your baby girl.”

The name of the newborn has not yet been revealed, leaving fans and well-wishers eagerly awaiting further updates from the couple.

The arrival of their baby girl marks a new chapter in the lives of Eben and Anlia Etzebeth, who have already achieved great success in their respective careers.
