South Africans mistake R17 million worth of jewellery for tripe

Chief Keef shows off his $1 Million worth of jewellery collection which consist of watches and chains, however, South African tweeps mistake it for tripe(Mogodu) mixed with tomatoes and peppers at first glance. Not only that, but they also read Chief Keef as Chef Keef and the jewellery being tribe made even more sense.

Keith Farrelle Cozart (born August 15, 1995), better known by his stage name Chief Keef, is an American rapper and producer from Chicago, Illinois.

His R 17 305 650 ($1 million) jewellery collection consists of gold and diamonds which explains the brownish colour and bling. The brownish colour easily convinced a South African mind that the jewellery was tripe.

South African tripe

Mogodu is a traditional South African dish consisting of stewed tripe (mala) and stomach lining (mogodu). The dish is considered a delicacy in South Africa, and it’s usually served lightly curried and accompanied by pap, dumplings, fried onions, or new potatoes.
