Sithebe’s days at Kaizer Chiefs are numbered

Kaizer Chiefs central midfielder, Siyethemba Sithebe, is facing an uncertain future at the club due to an injury that has hindered his ability to prove his worth.

The insider at the club has revealed that Sithebe’s injury, which he sustained during training late last year, has made it difficult for him to secure game time.

Sithebe, who joined Chiefs from AmaZulu FC, has only made one appearance for the club in the first round of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

This came in the team’s 2-1 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in September.

With his contract set to expire at the end of June, it is unlikely that Chiefs will extend his deal.

There are even rumours of a possible loan move for Sithebe for the remainder of his time at the club.

The source suggests that current coach Cavin Johnson is satisfied with his current squad, particularly the midfielders he has been utilizing since taking charge.

This means that Sithebe will face a difficult challenge in breaking into the team and proving his worth.

The uncertainty surrounding Sithebe’s future is undoubtedly a blow for the player, who will be eager to showcase his abilities and secure a place in the starting lineup.
