Seshego drownings

This incident marks the second drowning in less than a week in the Seshego policing area, following the recent tragedy in Makgodu.

Major General Jan Scheepers, the acting provincial commissioner of police in Limpopo, expressed concern over the recurring incidents and called on parents and guardians to prioritize the safety of their children.

“Take extra care and be cautious for the safety of your children to avoid these unintended consequences,” urged Scheepers.

The local community is grappling with the shock of losing young lives to water-related accidents, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the recent drowning.

A thorough autopsy will also be conducted to determine the exact cause of the 11-year-old boy’s tragic death.

As Seshego mourns the loss of yet another young soul to the unforgiving waters, the call for collective responsibility and vigilance echoes louder than ever.
