Kaizer Chiefs line up young goalkeeper as Khune’s replacement

Kaizer Chiefs young goalkeeper Bontle Molefe is being advised to seize the opportunity and push his way to become the second-choice goalkeeper at the club.

With Itumeleng Khune believed to be in his last days at Naturena and Brandon Petersen not performing convincingly for the team, Molefe has a chance to make his mark.

Molefe, who has been part of the senior team at Amakhosi since 2019, has yet to play a competitive game for the club.

However, with his wrist injury now healed and back in full training, he is ready to fight for the second-choice position behind Bruce Bvuma, who is currently the number-one choice.

Bontle Molefe has proven his worth to be the second-choice goalkeeper

As a Chiefs development product, Molefe has always proven himself as a worthy player for the team, consistently delivering outstanding performances in the reserves.

Now, it is time for him to showcase his talent in the senior team.

“It’s about time he gets his opportunity to play in the senior team. He just has to make sure that he grabs the opportunity with both hands because of these problems with Khune and Petersen,” a source told the Mgosi Squad.

The source also highlighted the poor performances of Khune and Petersen this season, emphasizing the need for someone like Molefe to step up and take charge.

Despite their experience, the two goalkeepers have not been up to par, creating an opportunity for Molefe to rise through the ranks.

With his youth and potential, Molefe has the advantage of time on his side.
