Ronaldo almost furiously punched the ball at ref after he was sent off

Cristiano Ronaldo found himself at the center of controversy after being sent off for appearing to elbow an opponent in the chest during a Saudi Super Cup match.

The former Manchester United star, now playing for Al-Nassr, was involved in a heated exchange with Al-Hilal defender Ali Al-Bulayhi as tensions escalated on the pitch.

The incident occurred with Al-Nassr trailing 2-0, with goals from Salem Al-Dawsari and former Barcelona player Malcom putting Al-Hilal in the lead.

Ronaldo’s frustration seemed to get the better of him when Al-Bulayhi attempted to prevent him from taking a quick throw-in, leading to a confrontation between the two players.

In a moment of heated exchange, Ronaldo appeared to elbow Al-Bulayhi in the chest, causing the defender to go down.

The altercation prompted players from both teams to intervene, with tensions running high on the field. Ronaldo’s actions resulted in a red card from the referee, leading to his dismissal from the match.

The incident, which saw Ronaldo motion towards the referee and Al-Bulayhi in a confrontational manner, has sparked debate and scrutiny over the player’s conduct on the pitch.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s actions have drawn criticism and raised questions about sportsmanship and fair play in professional football.

Even though former Liverpool man Sadio Mane pulled one back, Al Nassr still went on to lose 1-2.
