Red Bull suspends female employee who accused boss of inappropriate behaviour
Red Bull has suspended the female employee who accused team boss Christian Horner of inappropriate behaviour, a source close to the investigation confirmed to AFP on Thursday.
The allegations against Horner sparked an internal inquiry, which ultimately cleared him of any wrongdoing.
However, the matter has continued to drag on, casting a shadow over the future of one of the most successful teams in Formula One history.
The woman’s complaint had initially raised questions about Horner’s leadership and put his position at Red Bull in jeopardy.
Despite being cleared of the allegations, Horner faced renewed scrutiny when private messages allegedly between him and the female staff member were leaked to F1 officials and journalists shortly after the internal inquiry concluded.
The off-track drama surrounding the allegations did little to distract from Red Bull’s on-track success, with Max Verstappen securing a dominant 1-2 finish at the Sakhir Grand Prix.
The recent suspension of the female employee is a direct result of the investigation, which has now been closed.
This development comes in spite of Red Bull GmbH’s previous statement affirming the complainant’s right to appeal the initial verdict.
In response to the latest twist in the saga, Red Bull has chosen not to comment on the situation, further adding to the uncertainty surrounding the case.
