Police discover warehouse with expired snacks and date stamps

In a recent patrol conducted by police members of the Westrand District K9 unit, their attention was drawn to a loaded truck travelling on R41 near Chief Mogale.

Acting on their suspicions, the officers stopped the truck. The driver, coming from Mpumalanga, claimed that he was on his way to deliver stock to a certain address in Azaadville.

The police then decided to follow the truck to its destination, they discovered two foreign nationals, aged 30 and 35, who confirmed ownership of the delivered goods. Subsequently, the suspects were arrested and taken into custody at Kagiso police station poll.

Upon further inspection of the premises, law enforcement officers uncovered not only the delivered stock but also an alarming quantity of expired food items and date stamps. The nature of this find prompted the police to charge the suspects with Contravening the National Health Regulation 638 of 22 June 2018.

This regulation explicitly prohibits operating such a business without the requisite valid license of acceptability from the local authority. Captain Solomon Sibiya, the police spokesperson, emphasized the severity of the charges.
