Oscar Mbo’s Limpopo gigs in jeopardy following threats

A music event at a popular resort in Limpopo has been postponed due to alleged threats against DJ and producer Mbongeni Ndlovu, known as Oscar Mbo.

This has raised questions about whether he may now be banned from performing in the province.

The situation follows recent incidents at the Cultural Urban Festival Africa in Bloemfontein and the Blouberg Spring Annual festival in Senwabarwana, where there was controversy involving Oscar Mbo.

After one incident, he apologised in the comments on Kharishma’s post.

In October, he addressed claims that he interrupted Makhadzi’s performance by removing her USB.

He explained that he and the promoter had agreed to share her set time, with both performing for 20 minutes each.

“I have said it over the phone, and I am saying it again; if that did really happen, I am saying sorry, my sister,” he said.

Noko Resort, where the event was set to take place on Saturday, announced this week that they would postpone it to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

“In light of recent events, we at Noko Resort have made the difficult decision to postpone our highly anticipated event,” the statement said.

“Our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved — our loyal patrons, talented performers, partners and dedicated staff.”
