Orlando Pirates striker Zakhele Lepasa is a wanted man

SuperSport United is reportedly considering the possibility of bringing back Orlando Pirates striker Zakhele Lepasa for the upcoming season.

Lepasa had previously been on loan to SuperSport during the second half of the last season, and despite not scoring regularly, the club had shown interest in retaining him.

However, they ultimately opted to sign Terrence Dzvukamanja from Pirates instead.

While Lepasa had a strong start to the current season at Orlando Pirates, scoring 10 goals across all competitions in the initial months, his form has dipped since September.

He has struggled to find the back of the net and has often been used as a substitute, with Evidence Makgopa being the preferred striker under head coach Jose Riveiro.

Despite his recent challenges at Pirates, Lepasa has continued to earn call-ups to the Bafana Bafana national team under head coach Hugo Broos.

With SuperSport potentially looking to bolster their striking options, the 26-year-old forward could be a valuable addition to the squad, especially with veteran Bradley Grobler nearing the end of his career and uncertainty surrounding the future of loanee Etiosa Ighodaro from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Should SuperSport United secure qualification for continental competitions in the upcoming season, having a strong and competitive squad will be crucial.
