Orlando Pirates set sights on their first transfer target

Orlando Pirates are reportedly set to make a formal offer for talented forward Muzomuhle Khanyi, who has been impressing with his performances for Hungry Lions in the second tier of South African football.

Sources close to the situation have indicated that the Buccaneers have been closely monitoring Khanyi’s progress and are considering making a move for the promising player.

Khanyi’s standout performances for Hungry Lions in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, particularly during this year’s Nedbank Cup campaign, have caught the attention of Orlando Pirates.

The 24-year-old striker has been in fine form, scoring four league goals for his team as they push for promotion.

His contributions were instrumental in helping the Northern Cape club advance to the Last 16 of the prestigious competition, where they were eventually eliminated by Pirates.

Sources suggest that Orlando Pirates have been tracking Khanyi closely as they assess potential signings for the upcoming season.

One insider revealed, “Pirates has been following the progress of Muzomuhle Khanyi and will continue to do so for the rest of the season. He is a talented young man with a lot of potential, and depending on his performance in the remaining games, Pirates could make an offer to sign him.”

The Buccaneers have a history of recruiting promising talent from lower leagues, with players like Siphelo Baloni, Cebo Mchunu, and Sphamandla Gumede being signed from the NFD (Motsepe Foundation Championship) last season.
