No big Europe move for Orlando Pirates star as no club has approached him

Orlando Pirates rising star Mohau Nkota has caught the attention of European club Standard Liege, with reports indicating that the Belgian outfit is eager to secure the talented teenager’s services.

The 19-year-old winger has impressed with his performances and potential, prompting interest from Liege, who are reportedly considering making an offer for him in the near future.

While Standard Liege is said to be keen on Nkota and believes he is ready for a step up to European football, discussions regarding a potential transfer have not yet taken place between the two parties.

Despite this, the possibility of a move remains open, with Liege expressing admiration for the young South African talent.

Nkota’s recent promotion to the Orlando Pirates first team following the Africa Cup of Nations break has further heightened his profile, showcasing his potential and readiness for senior-level competition.

Although he has yet to make his senior debut for the Pirates, Nkota has been a standout performer in the DStv Diski Challenge, earning praise for his performances alongside other promising development players.

Standard Liege competes in the prestigious Belgian Pro League, a competition that has served as a stepping stone for several South African players in the past.

Notably, striker Lyle Foster, who previously played for Liege, used the platform to further his career and eventually secured a move to English Premier League club Burnley FC.

As Nkota’s future hangs in the balance, the prospect of a move to Liege could offer him a valuable opportunity to continue his development and make a mark on the European football stage.
