Nigerian woman caught with R700k worth of drugs inside her flashy Mercedes-Benz

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department’s (JMPD) tactical response unit successfully apprehended a 39-year-old woman in the Brackendowns area of Alberton.

The IOL reports that the operation, which took place on Saturday, April 6, in Eldorado Park, was part of an intelligence-driven initiative aimed at combatting drug distribution within the community.

Superintendent Xolani Fihla, spokesperson for the JMPD, revealed that crucial information regarding an individual involved in drug trafficking was obtained during the operation.

Armed with a description of the vehicle used to transport drugs, law enforcement officers were able to pinpoint the location of the suspected drug dealer in Brackendowns, Alberton.



Surveillance efforts on Sunday, April 7, resulted in the sighting of a white Mercedes Benz, matching the provided description, leaving the suspect’s residence.

Acting swiftly, the officers intercepted the vehicle, which was being driven by the female suspect. A subsequent search led to the discovery of drugs with an estimated value of approximately R700,000 in her possession.

The arrest highlights the ongoing commitment of law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related crimes and safeguard communities from the detrimental impacts of drug abuse.

Superintendent Fihla commended the dedication and vigilance of the JMPD officers involved in the operation, emphasizing the importance of intelligence-driven strategies in targeting individuals engaged in illicit drug activities.
