Nigeria receives crucial Osimhen update ahead of AFCON semi-final clash

In a significant development for the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s star player Victor Osimhen has been declared fit and available for the crucial Afcon semi-final clash against South Africa.

The 25-year-old forward, who has been instrumental in Nigeria’s AFCON campaign, had initially faced concerns with “abdominal discomfort” and did not travel with the team.

However, following assessment and treatment by the medical team, Osimhen has rejoined his teammates in Bouaké, where the semi-final match against Bafana Bafana is set to take place.

The Super Eagles’ statement indicated that Osimhen has participated in training with the squad, confirming his readiness for selection in the important encounter.

“Victor Osimhen has been declared fit and available for selection in the semi-final clash against South Africa on Wednesday.”

“He has joined the team in Bouaké and has trained with the squad today,” the Super Eagles said via a statement.

Osimhen has been a key figure for Nigeria in the tournament, contributing with a goal and two assists in the five games he has played so far.

With his return to fitness, Nigeria aims to leverage his skills and attacking prowess in the bid to secure a spot in the Afcon final.

The semi-final clash between Bafana Bafana and Nigeria is scheduled to kick off at 19:00 on Wednesday.
