N3 Horror Crash Claims Three Lives Including 10-Year-Old Girl

Three individuals, including a 10-year-old girl, lost their lives in a tragic accident on Boxing Day along the N3 near Ladysmith.

According to IOL this marks the second unfortunate incident on that route

This follows the death of five people in a separate crash on Christmas Eve, with two others hospitalized.

What was said about the crash

Addressing the recent accident, Samantha Meyrick, spokesperson for emergency services IPSS Medical Rescue, reported their response to a serious collision on Tuesday around noon.

She stated:

“On arrival of paramedics, a scene of devastation was found as two cars had collided head-on.

“On assessment, it was established that three occupants had sustained fatal injuries and were sadly declared deceased on the scene.”

Meyrick further shared

“A fourth patient was found to be severely entrapped in one of the vehicles and had sustained critical injuries.

“The patient was extricated using the Jaws of Life and stabilized on the scene before being rushed to a nearby hospital.”

Meyrick noted the unfortunate inclusion of a 10-year-old girl among the deceased and conveyed condolences to the affected families.

Reflecting on the Christmas Eve incident, Meyrick described a horrific scene where two vehicles collided at high speed.

She said:

“Sadly, it was established that the single occupant of one vehicle was deceased.”

The second vehicle, carrying six occupants, saw the loss of four lives, while a 12-year-old girl was airlifted to the hospital with critical injuries.
