Mystery as dead man is found with license and keys between his legs

In the early hours of this morning the body of a 33-year-old man was found on Inanda Road near Mount Vernon, KwaZulu-Natal.

The discovery was made by a taxi driver, who quickly contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre at approximately 00:24.

Upon receiving the call, Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the man with visible injuries, bleeding from both his face and the back of his head. However, it could not be immediately determined whether the injuries were caused by a gunshot.

In addition to the injuries, the man’s driver’s license and a set of keys were found placed between his legs, adding to the mystery surrounding his death.

The Verulam South African Police Service (SAPS) has taken over the investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the man’s death.
