Motorist gets the shock of his life after trying to help truck driver
Often people joke that South Africa is a film this is because every week something new shocks us as a nation. Here is what happened when Marble Hall police investigated an overturned truck. This happened on the road between Marble Hall and Elandskraal at about 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, February 02, 2023. When the police arrived they found that the truck was fully loaded with illegal packs of cigarettes. The police were then alerted to the accident by a motorist driving behind the 12-ton truck.

The truck was travelling from Marble Hall toward Elandskraal when its driver suddenly lost control and the truck overturned. Then things took an interesting turn.
At the scene, the motorist stopped to assist the driver and the passenger. The driver was trapped in the cabin with a seriously injured passenger. Then an action movie-like plot twist happened. Unknown suspects travelling in a sedan came out of nowhere and pointed at the good Samaritan with guns.

The suspects then forcibly pulled the seriously injured passenger from the truck, placed him in their vehicle, and sped off. Leaving the motorist in complete shock.
The driver of the truck, whose identity is not yet known, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Police seized about 300 cartons of illegal cigarettes.
A case has been opened for culpable homicide and possession of illegal cigarettes, and the search continues for the armed suspects who abducted the injured passenger.
