Police launch manhunt following the shooting of a prominent businessman and his bodyguard
Hlogotlou Police in the Sekhukhune District have launched a massive manhunt for suspects who shot and injured a well-known businessman (57) and his bodyguard (33) near Mogaung village on Friday, May 31, 2024, at around 19:45.
According to preliminary reports, the victims were driving along the R574 towards Monsterlus when they reached a speed hump near Mogaung village.
Unknown suspects in a dark blue Mercedes-Benz sedan fired several shots at them. The businessman was shot in the arm, and his bodyguard exited the vehicle and returned fire but suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the process.
The suspects fled the scene without taking anything from the victims. The injured victims were transported to the hospital for immediate medical attention.
