The statement from Buckingham Palace reassured the public about King Charles’s mindset, stating:

“He remains wholly positive” and “looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”

The king’s health concern was discovered during a hospital procedure for a separate issue related to benign prostate enlargement.

The palace did not provide specific details about the type of cancer or the treatment plan.

Despite the diagnosis, King Charles III is maintaining a positive outlook and anticipates resuming his full range of public duties in due course.

In a separate development, Prince William, the eldest son of King Charles III and the heir to the throne, has returned to royal duties after a brief hiatus.

The 41-year-old prince had temporarily postponed public engagements to care for his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, who underwent abdominal surgery on January 16.

Prince William is set to conduct an investiture (a ceremony in which someone is given an official rank, authority, power) at Windsor Castle and attend the London Air Ambulance annual fundraising gala in central London on Wednesday, as confirmed by Kensington Palace.

The royal family faced dual health concerns in January when King Charles III was announced to undergo treatment for an enlarged prostate, and Princess Catherine was recovering from abdominal surgery.

The King left the hospital on January 29, just days after his surgery, while Princess Catherine was discharged on the same day after her surgery.

The absence of the king and princess led to a staffing shortage within the royal family, with Queen Camilla, 76, becoming the most prominent public face during King Charles’s absence.

Reports suggest that King Charles’s recovery may extend until the end of February, while Princess Catherine is expected to be on medical leave until at least March 31.

The palace stressed that Princess Catherine’s admission to the hospital was unrelated to cancer, although specific reasons were not disclosed.
