Isibaya former actress,Gcina Mkhize, faces eviction and financial struggles amid South African TV industry crisis

Former Isibaya actress,Gcina Mkhize, recently opened up about her struggles with unemployment and housing issues in South Africa, highlighting the tough realities faced by many artists.

After her home was sold at auction, Mkhize is reportedly facing constructive eviction by the new owner, who has allegedly broken into the property multiple times and brought in strangers to pressure her to leave.

Despite this, Mkhize has refused to vacate the house, stating that she has nowhere else to go with her children. She has appealed for assistance, describing how her safety and that of her family are at risk as they live with only a curtain for a door.

Mkhize has also shared her struggles with the lack of job opportunities in the South African TV and film industry, noting that she has not been able to secure acting gigs.

As a single mother, her situation has become increasingly dire, and she has called on the public for help with basic necessities like food.

This story sheds light on the challenges that many South African artists face, particularly in managing financial stability after the peak of their careers.

“As an artist, I have become an actress who is not being hired. Those who own the industry know why they are not hiring me.

“I have no income and my situation is difficult, which is why I am pleading with anyone who can help to help me.

“All my beads and material to make jewellery were taken by this man .. Me and my children are being victimised on a daily basis,” she says.
