Injuries a big concern for Kaizer Chiefs for Sunday game

Prior to their return to competitive action in the MTN 8 semi-final on Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs have concerns over the number of injuries.

Arthur Zwane has revealed that he does not have a full complement of players to work with ahead of the first leg against Amazulu at the FNB Stadium.

Zwane said that Khama Billiat remains on the sidelines nursing a long-term injury and is joined by two players who sustained injuries in the Macufe Cup match against Royal AM in Bloemfontein.

Sabelo Radebe and Happy Mashiane picked up knocks during the loss to Royal AM while Billiat is some way from a full return to training.

Zwane is hoping for good news later this week but was delighted to welcome back Ashley Du Preez and Kgaogelo Sekgota unscathed from international duty.

“We had a few knocks in Macufe, Sabelo Radebe… Happy did not practice yesterday when we started, Khama is still dubious, he also just started training yesterday,” stated Zwane as per iDiski Times.

“When it comes to fitness, he’s [Billiat] still not sure. If nothing unexpected happens while the preparations are being made, I believe the remaining guys will be available.
“We’re looking forward to the game, we just hope that even those who are injured will be available by Friday because it will be matchday minus one and we want to be sure that we are ready for the game.”
