Horrific car accident leaves five dead

A horrific head-on collision occurred. It was between a Mini Truck driven by two men from Aliwal North and a double-cab Isuzu traveling from Queenstown to Aliwal North.

Two males and three females, all five occupants of the Isuzu double cab, died at the site. While both occupants of the Nissan UD truck were trapped and suffered serious injuries.

In a separate incident, a horrific collision on 27 July 2022 occurred. It happened on the M4 Ruth First Highway near the Blue Lagoon region. Seven people were hurt, one of them critically, and a pedestrian died.

When Emer-G-Med paramedics arrived on the scene. A Renault Triber was lying on its side across the road.

Upon closer examination, it was discovered that seven of the car’s occupants had been injured. One of whom had suffered a critical head injury.

Before being taken by ambulances to an adjacent receiving medical institutions for more care, the injured were stabilized by Advanced Life Support paramedics who worked tirelessly to do so.

When paramedics arrived, a male pedestrian who had sustained fatal injuries had already been pronounced dead.

It’s thought that the man was attempting to cross the road when he was hit by the car, causing it to flip over.
