Free State teacher found murdered in his home

Thabong police have initiated a search for the individual(s) linked to the killing of a 32-year-old male teacher. The Letsete Secondary School teacher Sipho Mothekhe (32 was last seen leaving LDK Tavern in Thabong after a night out with friends at around 02:00 on Sunday. He reportedly told friends he was on his way to visit Limpopo Tavern, in the same area.

The victim’s lifeless body was found by his girlfriend at his place of residence.

His girlfriend was struggling to get ahold of him and decided to go to his place . She first noticed that his Volkswagen Polo was not in the yard and entered the house, this is when she discovered his body, and sought help from neighbours leading to the police being notified.

Upon arrival police found signs of forced entry with the front burglar doors and door broken.

The residence was ransacked searched, and the deceased was discovered with injuries. These included wounds on the left arm and body, a broken right wrist, stab wounds on the chest, neck, and head. A garden spade was located near his body, and his Volkswagen Polo, cellphone, and Hisense HD television were reported missing.

Subsequently, the abandoned Volkswagen Polo was found in Virginia on the same day. A comprehensive investigation has been initiated, and a case has been registered for house robbery, murder, and theft of a motor vehicle.
