Since the start of the season, the former Pirates star has been without a club, but he is now trying his luck at Royal AM, who are looking to strengthen their defense.

After being released by AmaZulu, Sibusiso Maqaga has reportedly been permanently signed by Royal AM.

Prior to Shauwn MaMkhize’s purchase of Bloemfontein Celtic at the start of the previous campaign, the 24-year-old spent the 2020–21 season on loan with the team while Royal AM competed in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Magaqa became close friends with the club’s president, Andile Mpisane, when he was on loan. MaMkhize paid for his burial when Magaqa’s father passed away, and the two have maintained a friendly rapport ever since.

Samkelo Mgwazela is another player Royal AM is considering, and they are reportedly close to signing him.

In order to determine whether Royal AM will be satisfied with his fitness and other factors before deciding whether to sign him on a loan or a permanent basis, AmaZulu released him without terminating his contract.

Luckyboy Mokoena, a right-back who was released by TS Galaxy, was also welcomed by Royal AM.

If Mokoena is signed by Royal AM, it will be his second time playing in KwaZulu-Natal. Three seasons ago, after her relationship with Royal Eagles ended, MaMkhize loaned her players to Real Kings.
