European deal beckons for SuperSport youngster who is yet to choose between Nigeria and Bafana

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has hinted at the possibility of sending two young players abroad following the team’s recent exit from the CAF Confederation Cup.

While Hunt did not disclose the names of the players, speculation has arisen that teenage defender Ime Okon may be one of the talents being considered for a move overseas.

Ime Okon, who has made a significant impact in his debut season with over 20 appearances for SuperSport United, has reportedly attracted attention from international scouts.

With Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos also taking notice of the young defender, Okon’s future seems promising as offers from abroad could be on the horizon.

He is also eligible to play for Nigeria.

Coach Hunt emphasized the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent and preparing them for opportunities in Europe.

“My job is to produce players to go to Europe, which we’ve got two going already… That’s what we do,” Hunt stated, highlighting the club’s focus on developing players for potential international careers.

Reports suggest that Okon is being closely monitored by clubs in Portugal, France, and Belgium, with more potential suitors showing interest in the 20-year-old defender.

While Okon’s future is expected to become clearer in June when the transfer window opens, SuperSport United is likely to entertain offers while aiming to secure the best deal for the talented player.

As Okon’s star continues to rise, his potential move abroad represents a significant opportunity for the young defender to further his career on the international stage.
