When Dumisani Mhlangu’s hands were chopped of last week, his entire existence was changed.

Mhlangu (30), who is recovering at Witbank Hospital, told WITBANK NEWS everything about the horrifying attack.

Mob justice is a possibility, according to Brigadier Lindani Ndlovu, head of the Vosman Police station.

On Wednesday, March 20, after being abducted, the victim was attacked and left permanently crippled by six men who appeared to be foreign nationals as he was strolling down the Kromdraai Road in the direction of Extension 16.

During the interview, he paused several times trying to get his emotions under control.

“I kept on pleading and telling them they had the wrong man. I prayed that God would protect me as I was sure they were going to kill me,” he said.

According to the provincial police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli the men took both Mhlangu’s hands and left him behind in despair.

He said the men accused him of stealing a battery at a local church.

Police opened a case of attempted murder and are in pursuit of the suspects.
