Cyril Ramaphosa fixes one pothole during campaign

President Cyril Ramaphosa filled one of the numerous potholes lining the streets of Botleng township in Delmas, Mpumalanga. He did this wearing red gloves and an ANC-branded cap.

Ramaphosa was successful in his effort since he completely covered the pothole after finishing his duty under the watchful eye of ANC members.

As part of the ANC’s Letsema campaign, one of its outreach initiatives for service delivery, the president visited Delmas on Saturday.

Ramaphosa and ANC members frequently participate in cleanup projects as part of the effort. Ramaphosa engaged with municipal workers, locals, and ANC members while cleaning the streets of Delmas at the previous event, which took place in the Free State.

Municipalities are responsible for filling potholes and making sure that public areas are kept clean.

The ANC’s service delivery initiatives, according to Ramaphosa, were essential. This is because they helped people see the ANC as a party that works.

“I am excited about this programme because it is getting our people to look at the ANC anew. To see that the ANC can be focused on service delivery. That the ANC can focus on what matters most to the people of our country, which is the delivery of better and more efficient services to them. That is the Letsema campaign,” Cyril Ramaphosa said.

He said the service delivery programme also geared the party towards the 2024 elections.

Mmamoloko Kubayi, a member of the ANC national executive who accompanied Ramaphosa, supported the program and said it allowed people to take action rather than just wait for the government.

“It is crucial that we follow the ANC’s main volunteer, who has gone out to observe service delivery. Additionally, to mobilise and take action as ANC members by addressing community issues rather than laying low and waiting for the government, “said Kubayi.

During his final public appearance as the main clean-up volunteer, Ramaphosa was criticized by Delmas residents for the ANC’s poor service delivery, unemployment, and corruption.

He promised that the ANC will improve anyone who expressed their grievances.
