Councillor’s sons shot outside a club just 17 days after he was also shot

The sons of DA councillor Jaques Alexander are currently recovering in hospital after they were shot outside a nightclub in Gqeberha.

Their shooting comes merely 17 days after Alexander was also shot. He still has 4 bullets wounds lodged in his body.

The fact that this comes so soon after the attempt on Alexander’s life has raised concerns about the safety and security of public officials in the area.

DA Eastern Cape leader Andrew Whitfield has expressed his support for Alexander and his family during this difficult time.

He has promised to assist in beefing up security measures to ensure the safety of the councillor and his loved ones.

Whitfield also mentioned the possibility of temporarily relocating the family until the perpetrators are brought to justice.

The motive behind the shooting of Alexander’s sons remains unclear, with Alexander himself stating that he has very little information about the incident.

It is still uncertain whether this incident is linked to the attempt on his life or if it was a random act of violence.

Police reports indicate that the brothers were shot in the stomach by an unknown assailant outside a nightclub in Pellsrus.

They are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Gqeberha and are said to be in stable condition.

The police are investigating the incident to determine the motive behind the shooting and to apprehend the person responsible.

Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the brothers had both been shot in the stomach by an unknown person.
