Chiefs win has Zwane singing praises

Some Kaizer Cheifs supporters are swallowing their words. This is after they expressed doubt about Arthur Zwane’s coaching capabilities during the string of loses and draws. This saw Chiefs as part of the teams at the bottom of the PSL log.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has praised the character of his side after they came from a goal down against Stellenbosch FC, saying it proves the mentality of this new squad.

The amakhosi beat Stellies 3-1 even though they were going down 1-0 in the 29th minute. This was after Nhlanhla Mgaga took full advantage of a mistake made by Njabulo Blom. However, new striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana scored a hat-trick of penalties to have his side get their third successive win.

After the match, Zwane commended his side’s resilience, it was not the first game where the team came from a goal down to collect three points.

Chiefs team's gets praises

“You must’ve seen this season, this is a different Kaizer Chiefs altogether,” he told SuperSport TV.

“This is a team that came back from, I don’t know, maybe six or seven games going one goal down, but we were very consistent, we never gave up. We kept on believing that we can come back and get the win.

“Remember the game against SuperSport, and in other games unfortunately we didn’t get the winning goals, but we came back from behind.

“Yes, there is a worrying factor, but it also shows the character. This is the Kaizer Chiefs I wanted to play for, the Kaizer Chiefs I am up supporting.

He said last minute of the game, they used to say ‘it’s not over until the fat lady sings that’s the Kaizer Chiefs mentality and that’s the character that they are building.

The Glamour boys are back in action when they take on Chippa United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
