Car accident leaves seven dead
A tragic car accident occurred on the N1 bypass near the Mall of the North. It is reported that the Fortuner lost control and crashed head-on into a truck.
Seven fatalities were reported on the scene of the car accident. The driver and six passengers died on the scene of which two were young children
In an unrelated incident on 5 September 2022 a 36-year-old woman and her two daughters, ages 12 and 10, were injured when their car slammed into a light pole.
While following a black Nissan Micra, a member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) saw it veer off the road and crash into a light pole. The Reaction Officer stopped to help and found that all three of the occupants had been hurt in the collision. The officer made an urgent call for medical aid.
At 16:06, RUSA Medics responded to the site and treated the woman and her children for their injuries before taking them to a hospital.
