The 24-year-old midfielder, who has spent a significant portion of his career in England, is now set to join the South African club.

Leshabela’s journey in professional football began at Leicester City, where he moved through the ranks, starting from the U18 level and working his way up to the U21s.

Despite his promising talent, Leshabela also gained valuable experience through loan spells at Shrewsbury in the 2021/22 season and Crewe Alexandra in the 2022/23 season.

Leshabela’s only had one appearance in the EPL for Leicester City that occurred in 2021, as he made his debut against Sheffield United.

iDiski Times reports that Leshabela is set to undergo training with Cape Town City in the coming days.

The midfielder is also expected to travel with the team to Johannesburg, where they will be conducting a training camp in the upcoming week.

In addition to the potential signing of Khanya Leshabela, Cape Town City has recently completed the signing of Namibian international Prins Tjiueza.
