Broos || This is what he told Bafana at halftime
Hugo Broos, the coach of Bafana Bafana, has shared what he said to his team during halftime of their comeback victory over Mozambique.
Despite being behind after 15 minutes of play, South Africa won their third match in a row thanks to a second-half brace by Bongokuhle Hlongwane.
In the second half, Broos’ team appeared to be a different team, but Broos stated that he had instructed his players to keep playing while remaining cool.
After the game, Broos told SABC Sport, “I just instructed the boys to continue on, we didn’t play awful, certainly not.”
But the opponent we faced played very, very near to their goal before waiting and attempting to be threatening with extremely quick counters.
“But we managed it, and we managed it well. We won the game after I told them to “go on and play, let the ball go, and don’t run too much with the ball.”
Before their lengthy break until the two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Liberia in March, Bafana will now play Angola.
