Body of a missing teacher found, this is what happened
In the afternoon of November 11, 2023, the lifeless body of 34-year-old Mrs. Yonela Mahlungulu, a teacher reported missing the previous day, was discovered near a river in Mtsila locality, Lusikisiki.
The teacher had left home for school on November 10 but never returned. Her husband, concerned by her absence, reported her missing to the police, who initiated a search. Her cellphone was left at home and that raised further alarms.
The investigation led to the recovery of her vehicle at Bukuveni locality in Flagstaff, with blood stains in the trunk and keys in the ignition. Utilizing a tracker report, the search continued, and at 15:00, a K9 Search and Rescue dog named “Bond” located Mrs. Mahlungulu’s body with gunshot wounds at Mtsila locality. A murder investigation is underway, with the motive and suspect/s unknown.
