Billiat talks about possibility of returning to PSL
Zimbabwean forward Khama Billiat has not ruled out going back to the Premier Soccer League.
The 34-year-old recently returned to Zimbabwe after leaving Kaizer Chiefs, ending his 13 years in South African football.
Billiat, who was one of the first successful players from Zimbabwe, won every domestic title, as well as the CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup while playing for Sundowns.
Some thought his move to Yadah was a sign he was winding down his career, but he found his form again and was persuaded to return to the national team after briefly retiring.
“Let’s say it’s a great recognition. You know, as players, you always want your effort to be recognised, and I truly appreciate and, ja, it makes me feel young again,” Billiat said to iDiski Times about several PSL clubs showing interest in him.
“You never know with football? Like I just wanted to focus on the league back home. We’re left with five games, I think, and see how far I can go, and where we are and how I did throughout the season. Then sit down and look, if there’s interest, you never know…”
Billiat scored for Zimbabwe in their 1-0 victory over Namibia and played in the 3-1 win a few days later, putting them close to qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
